Exciting attractions and activities in Mt Maunganui
| No visit to The Mount is complete without a walk up or around the mountain known as Mauao. |
| Enjoy the fantastic views, and then indulge in a Copenhagen Ice Cream or a relaxing soak in the hot salt water pools |
Try a more relaxing laid back day enjoying the walks and waterfalls at McLarens Falls Park. Visit the nearby Marshalls Animal Park so the kids can feed the animals and wander the grounds. Another great walking area is the unique community developed park at Quarry park.
If the weather hinders the outside activities, or you have had enough sunshine, try a spot of indoor rock climbing
| History comes to life at the Elms Mission House. The Elms is an historic house museum, the oldest European heritage site in the Bay of Plenty, and is an essential and informative stop for all visitors to Tauranga.
If leaving Tauranga then a stop at Kiwi 360 is just the thing to learn all about our famous and juicy kiwifruit. Go for a tour, and see a working orchard and packhouse. |
| Just down the road is Comvita, the home of honey. Enjoy and be fascinated by the live bee displays, visit the shop where you will be able to purchase all the different honey products that you could imagine.
Don't forget the volcano in the middle of the ocean, try taking one of the many tours to White Island, just out from Whakatane. On the way get in a spot of horse riding on the beach at Maketu.
With all these activities right on our doorstep it's easy to see why many guests stay and play in the Bay. Why don't you stay another night with us at... Seagulls Guesthouse |
